[Choose a Story and Expand It] Take Steve Jobs for example. He wore his “uniform” black turtle neck jumper/sweater and trousers. This meant each day he wore the same thing so none of his valuable thought processes were taken up with mundane things like “What do I wear today?”. Mark Zuckerberg is a great example of only focusing his energy on important decisions. He wears bland, boring clothes from a limited wardrobe. He saves his mental energy for making important decisions. The Zuck doesn’t waste powerful thought processes on whether the red or blue t-shirts are better to wear. Barack Obama was famous for having a wardrobe full of the same suits! Like other famous, successful people, Obama decided that his mental energy was best used on running the USA, even when he would’ve had people to advise him on what to wear.
Psychologists call this decision fatigue. It’s common for very successful people to organize their decision-making processes to only focus on decisions that really matter.

I've always been a bit of a rebel, not because I wanted to cause chaos or be disruptive. I wanted a better, faster way to get the result I was looking for in my business and in my life.
Being the only entrepreneur in my family is tough. Every family gathering echoed with "Why don't you get a real job?".
For 5 years my dad told people I was unemployed because that had less stigma than being a business owner!
Over the years my transport company won business awards for innovation and Environmental Awareness. I worked with huge companies delivering multi million pound contracts, and with individuals on a budget. Of course, this business reached its 10th-anniversary milestone.
After a near-death experience (a ruptured appendix at 39) I decided that I wanted to make a change in the business I was in.
Having created one of the most visible online courier companies in the UK at the time, marketing and sales were calling me. So I setup my 3rd business and launched the Online Visibility Academy. Running a sales and marketing business is very different to a transport company however the business side was similar, we needed to find clients, make sales and grow this business. I quickly found out that my passion for business, my Rebel Boss Mindset, is what would lead us to business success. It wasn't one specific tactic, or strategy. It was the ability to think like a boss and not be kept small by the employee mindset.
When my wife Sarah came into the business, she had zero experience of being the boss. Although she had had a brilliant career, there was always someone above her where the buck stopped. It took a long time for her to get her mindset out of the 9-5 and into the creative, innovative environment in which she now thrives. I had to work on her mindset with her. She's come a long way since then.
